The Best Frankfurt Bars
Feb 14 , 2012
Maybe you’re in the mood for an elegant bar complete with a piano player and candlelight. Or maybe you’d rather have a cocktail in a contemporary bar or a beer in a traditional German tavern. Luckily, Frankfurt bars serve up something you’ll enjoy no matter what your nightlife preference is.
Main Tower Restaurant and Bar
The Main Tower Restaurant and Bar has one of the top dining experiences in Frankfurt, so why not stop at the bar for a drink before or after your meal? The bar boasts a stunning view of Frankfurt that can’t be beat.
Luna Bar
With a lively atmosphere that mirrors the colorful design, the Luna Bar is sure to keep you awake into the night. The Luna Bar’s unique signature cocktails include “Lynch Cream Fog,” “Aloe Vera Sour,” and “Pepperchilli Sour,” and you can enjoy drinks until the bar closes at 3:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays.
22nd Lounge and Bar
Located in the Inside Frankfurt Eurotheum, the 22nd Lounge and Bar features great drinks and live jazz music, which is the perfect way to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. What makes the 22nd Lounge and Bar even better? The beautiful view of the city.
Living XXL
Just as the name suggests, Living XXL is one of the Frankfurt bars that encourages you to think big. Housed under a glass roof and lit up in the evening, Living XXL is a large establishment that features special nights—like “Salsa Club” nights and “Campus Night”—and live music performances. Living XXL includes a restaurant in addition to a bar, in case you get hungry.
Destino Tapas Bar
Destino Tapas Bar entrances guests with its warm atmosphere complete with brick, orange, and red walls. We recommend going for dinner beforehand so you can share some tapas with your travel companions, as the tapas span from calamari to curry chicken to meatballs. Then, venture over to the bar and enjoy the hip scene.
The Bar at Dauth-Schneider
One of the top Frankfurt bars is the bar at Dauth-Schneider (short for Apfelwein-Wirtschaft Dauth-Schneider), which is a family-owned establishment. This tavern features great cider in addition to its selection of beer and wine.
Jimmy’s
Jimmy’s is located in the Hotel Hessicher Hof. With its columns, candlelight, leather stools, paintings, and pianist, Jimmy’s provides guests with a very refined bar experience. Jimmy’s stays open until 4:00 am.
Adolf Wagner
At this traditional German tavern, the décor is simple and the apple wine is delicious. Enjoy your drinks in the tavern or the “wine-press hall,” both of which feature long tables that are conducive to drinking with a large group and also meeting new people.
